MCAAI members participated in the East Africa School for Young Researchers on Advanced Machine Learning, held at the University of Nairobi. The school provided intensive training in advanced ML techniques alongside exposure to cutting-edge African AI research.
Ezekiel Maina won the Best Poster Award at the school for his work on the AI4KSL sign language avatar system — a significant recognition of MCAAI's disability inclusion research at the regional level.
