In collaboration with the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore University, led by Dr. Melissa Omino (LLD), MCAAI hosted a workshop series focused on the Nwulite Obodo Open Data License (NOODL).
The workshops brought together researchers, legal experts, and community representatives to explore responsible AI licensing, intellectual property considerations, and strategies for sharing datasets and AI models in ways that empower African researchers and communities.
This collaboration was co-supported by Mozilla and reinforced MCAAI's position as a global leader in community-controlled AI data governance.
