Celebrating MCAAI Graduates of 2025

MCAAI proudly celebrates the members of our community who graduated in 2025. Your achievements mark important personal milestones and contribute to the growing strength of the MCAAI network.


Masters of Science in Computer Science

  • Ezekiel Maina — Lead engineer of the AI4KSL sign language avatar system and recipient of the Google PhD Fellowship. Ezekiel's MSc research laid the computational foundations for MCAAI's disability inclusion programme.
  • Edwin Onkoba — Lead of MCAAI's Synthetic Data Generation team and co-author of the Swahili–Dholuo Topic Classification Dataset.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

  • John William Muga — AI in healthcare researcher and winner of the Deep Learning Indaba 2025 networking prize.

Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Technology and Management

  • Thereza Nkuzibwohi — A valued contributor to MCAAI's community engagement and data collection efforts throughout her undergraduate studies.

We are immensely proud of each graduate and look forward to watching their continued contributions to AI research in Africa.
